Chase angrily kicked the door open to the staff lounge, not caring if there was anyone else in there. Luckily there wasn't, which meant she had a rare time of peace inbetween her next two classes, and it was just what she needed. Chase didn't bother going over to the coffee machine to make herself some, instead she moved lazily to the couch and pretty much fell into it.
If you hadn't realized, Chase was DEAD tired. Her morning at South High had started out with a whiney, southern girl talking to Chase about her father, who happened to be Conrad Gallagher. Somehow. And that just made her entire mood tailspin into a firey crash. Yes, she hated Conrad with a passion, and yes, she hated talking about him, because it brings the thought of him almost killing her back inside her brain.
It was scary, he was some shapeshifter who thought he was king of the world. And to make things worse, Chase thought he was to cocky and arrogant, so she did treat him like trash. And she got it right back, so now there in kind of an all out war. But now, this little brat daughter of his decided to step in, which just pissed her off even more.
"God, I need a drink," she groaned, with half of her face pressed against the soft material of the couch.
Chase couldn't help but think of these things as she layed limp on the couch, staring at the wall. She could feel her eyelids begin to get heavy, but didn't fight them. At this point, she didn't care if she was fired, it would get her out of this hell hole and away from this drama. The drama of being friendless in a huge school full of weird people.
Yes, hard to believe that she didn't have any friends, isn't it? The only person she had ever felt a connection with left her. He just left, and she didn't know where to, and she hadn't heard from him since. And even though she hated to admit it, she really missed Edward Blake.
Though she knew he was dangerous, and he had killed over 1,000 people, she still had really liked him. He was different. He understood her. And then all of it went to shit when he just mysteriously "disappeared". Chase hadn't been the same since. She doesn't trust anybody because she fears she would get screwed over once again.
Before she could get her past, her beginning at South High, out of her head, she dozed off, hoping to get caught by the principal for sleeping on the job.

Bruce was on break today. CEO's had vacation and Wayne Enterprise was at a standstill for a few days. He felt the rush of the wind on his face and in feeling it, he turned his head in that direction. He heard a door get kicked open and from the sounds of it, it could have been one of two areas. The gym or teacher's lounge. Chances were good, it was just a kid. Bruce however, had a few hours to seemingly blunder about but really invesitgate.
Coffee break anyone?
He walked quietly towards the direction of the sound. He never met any of the teachers and god forbid if he did... The last thing Bruce needed was another Clark Kent on his tail, telling him what to do and how to run things. He held that thought as he walked inside the lounge, grabbed a mug and poured himself a cup of coffee. His bloodshot eyes wandered over to a blonde woman on the couch.
Dear lord... Not now...
He took a sip of his coffee, eyeing her for only a moment and walking over to his special chair. He turned on the T.V. in front of them and on came the news.
[blue]"This just in. Police have identified the unknown vigilante to be within the ages of 18 and 24. Here is what some witnesses had to say about the incident."[/blue] The news anchor directed the camera's attention to a young African American kid.
[red]"Hey man! I'm tellin' you. That s**t was insane! Niggas gettin' beaten right and left by this skinny white boy who nobody saw coming! This lady was in the hood at the wrong place at the wrong time and... Like a ninja, this guy came in and kicked these nigga's-"[/red]
The news anchor put his hand over the kid's mouth.
[blue]"Well. There you have it folks. This isn't the Batman. But a new, "Ninja" vigilante. Back to you, Ted!"[/blue]
Bruce turned the T.V. off thinking to himself in solidarity about the boy that was on the news. If there was another vigilante, that meant trouble. Trouble for Gotham. Trouble for the good of the people.
Two Batmans in one city...
He kept his thoughts and emotions to himself as the blonde woman sat there only about five feet away from him. They haven't met. Bruce was waiting for some sort of emotional response. So... He kept to himself.

Chase opened her eyes slowly, she didn't think she had been asleep for too long, but she could be wrong. She didn't move, her eyes were glued to the television, which she couldn't remember if she had fallen asleep with it on, or she had actually turned it on. Chase was confused, and to add to that, she was trying to understand what the hell the news was talking about.
"Hey man! I'm tellin' you. That s**t was insane! Niggas gettin' beaten right and left by this skinny white boy who nobody saw coming! This lady was in the hood at the wrong place at the wrong time and... Like a ninja, this guy came in and kicked these nigga's-"
What the hell was that guy talking about? Did something big happen while she was sleeping? Chase groggily sat up and listened to the rest of the news, something about another vigilante in Gotha, Yay, thats all Gotham needed, more people running around in costumes fighting off crime. It was their fault that Gotham had gotten so out of hand, or atleast thats what Chase thought. Though, ever since Batman came into the picture, things had gotten a little ridiculous.
She rubbed her face with her hands, she was still tired, but she thought she had been asleep for longer than she actually was. Once she removed her hands, she looked at the man in the room with her. Chase jumped, and imediatly her checks turned a bright shade of red. He probably had seen her sleeping,,,great.
"Uhh, hi?"

Bruce smiled and flipped out the newspaper on the coffee table in front of his chair. He took another sip of his coffee and shook the newspaper straight.
[blue]"Not gonna lie. Sleep sounds pretty good right now."[/blue]
It was a shame. He never slept leading two seperate lives. It made people wonder what he did in his night hours besides work. He envied this woman who was at first laying on a piece of furniture. Life was probably simple for her. She taught a bunch of kids, got a drink and returned home. She probably never fought or killed a man in her life. How he envied her.
His fingers flipped through the pages.
[blue]"I remember a time when the funnies were actually funny. This is just pathetic."[/blue]
He still never made a point of introducing himself. He wanted to see how this woman ticked without her knowing who he was or better yet if he was her boss. He also... Just wanted some coffee and a newspaper. Didn't matter where.
