A white and black kitten lay sprawled out in front of the lake. A pile of clothes was in a nearby pine tree. The tree was big enough to be filled with people yet dense enough that no one would be able to see. The cat’s jaws opened wide in a yawn. Darkness was slowly creeping on her and Rose knew that she would soon need to go inside. But why? She wasn’t tired. Besides, if she was caught, she wouldn’t get in trouble. From what she heard, her father was the ‘watch dog’ of the school.
Stretching out her front paws, she glanced up at the brilliant moon as it slipped like a disk in the star speckled sky. ”Ah should change back,” she mewed. Yawning once more, she walked into the protection of the tree and let the change take over her body. Pain jolted through her bones and they stretched. She cringed at it, yet she enjoyed it at the same time. It was who she was and she was comfortable with it.
With in no time, a clothes less blonde bent over and picked up her shorts and shirt, slipping one over her head and the other through her legs.
Taking a step out of the tree, she stretched and yawned before taking a seat at the edge of the pond again, staring at her reflection in its beautiful surface. She wanted to be alone, yet at the same time, she wanted a student to talk to.

Xavier was running, running as fast as he could through the school, running from a teacher that had caught him smoking inside the school. Hiding inside a classroom he closed his eyes as the teacher got to the door. Then just like that the teacher was gone. Xavier opened the door and looked around smiling, he had jumped about five minutes into the future, the teacher would be long gone by now. Turning around and heading back into the classroom Xavier opened the window and climbed out of it, he really didn't want to risk staying in the building.
Walking over the field he had a big grin on his face, that was until he reached the lake, there was a girl sat there. This ruined his plans slightly. Sighing Xavier slowly walked over to her and stood by her side, his hands in the pockets of his jeans and his eyes staring at the water. "So, what power do you have?" His voice was cold, almost emotionless, except for the hint of frustration in it.

Rose leaned back, resting most of her weight on her arms. Yet another yawn escaped her lips, but this time it wasn’t from fatigue. It was from boredom. Her pets were inside her dorm sleeping; curfew had gone and come, so if a teacher came, she was in trouble. Plus, there didn’t seem to be many students who broke the curfew rules. How boring could it get?
She was way too into her own thoughts to even catch the scent of a newcomer. Her blues eyes were drifting into the water and her mind into space. That is, until a voice came from beside her.
"So, what power do you have?"[/b]
Rose jumped slightly and looked up, not really to look at the boy but so that he could hear her. ”Ah’m a shifter, thanks.” Her voice was filled with a bit of annoyance. The boy seemed obviously mad or frustrated to her, so she wasn’t going to sound nice. ”Ain’t it past yer curfew, sir?” She knew that it was a rather stupid question to ask, since it was also past hers, but she felt obliged to throw it out there.
