John had just finished his third class of the day, and since all of the students were at lunch now, he decided to check out the teacher's lounge. He walked down the emptied hallways and pushed the entrance door to the lounge open. It was completely empty. Maybe they're all out to lunch or something, he thought to himself as he walked into the quiet room.
There was a couple of sofas, chairs, and a television. It looked pretty nice, hell, it was probably the nicest teacher's lounge in all of Gotham. He examined it for a couple of moments, before heading over to the counter. John headed straight for the coffee maker. He was not a fan of Starbucks and he had his own special way of making his own perfect cup of coffee. This included about four teaspoons of sugar. John had a huge sweet tooth. He quickly got to making his coffee, while he was trying to decide whether he should stay or go.
John thought about his option, he didn't really want to stay because there was nobody there, but he wanted to stay to see if anyone would come. It was a hard descision. He poured milk into the mug and stirred it. As he did so, he heard the door opening and pretended to be completely focused on stirring his coffee.

Harley yawned. How boring her day had been... so far. And that was only three periods into her day. She was leading a boring life for a boring job when she could be... correction, should be out causing Gotham harm. Only one problem, she had no Joker with her at the moment. That was a lie, she just got reunited with her Puddin'.
She walked down the hall and headed for the teachers lounge. "A nice cup of coffee, that's what i need." She mumbled. "Maybe someone'll be there to talk to. Not like I got much ta do."
She opened the door to the lounge and saw someone was already there. Good, she had company then. "Hi there," Harl said, disguising her voice from her usual high-pitched cacophony that it usual was. If she wasn't Harley Quinn, she used her more professional voice. Yawning once more, she head toward the coffee machine and got a cup, adding about three creams and four sugars. She quickly stirred the coffee and took a seat.

John looked up from his coffee and watched the woman walk into the room. "Hi there." He smiled at her. Oh good, she's friendly.
[/color] John thought to himself and finished stirring her coffee. "Hey," He replied, and picked up his cup of coffee and sat at one of the sofas. When the woman was finished making hers, she sat on the sofa across from the one he was sitting at. John took a small sip of his coffee, as he tried to think of a good topic starter. "So, I don't think I introduced myself. I'm Johnathan Preston, but you can call me John," He said and gave her a small nod, he would've shook her hand, but it would be weird because she was sitting so far away. "Strange school, isn't it?" John asked her and took another sip of his coffee.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Harley yawned softly and took a sip of her coffee. The sweetness of it made her taste buds tingle. It was just perfect, so she took another sip and then listened to the other person. "I'm Dr. Harleen Quinzel, but you can call me Harley. Everyone does," she said with a nod. A small smile formed on her lips
The steam of the coffee wrapped around her so enticingly that she couldn't help taking another longer sip. 'This is what I get fer not takin' the time ta make a cup before class started,'[/i] she thought.
"Strange school, isn't it?"
Harl couldn't help but smile bigger at that. "Very strange. Strange, crazy, fun. I like this place, it's a lot better than my previous... hmmm... a lot better than being a psychiatrist for Arkham." She couldn't exactly say previous because before this place, and after Arkham, was working with the Joker. She loved that job the most.
"Are you a new teacher here?"

John gave her a small smile and nodded. "Nice to meet you, Harley," He answered and took yet another sip of his coffee. If you hadn't figured out yet, John was somewhat of a coffee addict. "Very strange. Strange, crazy, fun. I like this place, it's a lot better than my previous... hmmm... a lot better than being a psychiatrist for Arkham."
John raised his eyebrows slightly. So she was a phsychiatrist at Arkham, that probably was a hard job to have considering the inhabitants of Arkham are schizo. "Yeah, I'm really new. Like, I just got out of college and I got this job so, I don't have much experience with this sort of thing." Or anything else, for that matter, he though to himself and took a sip of his coffee .

Harley took another sip only to realize that she had finished up her coffee. She bit her lip lightly. 'Should I get more?' She shrugged her shoulders lightly to herself. Why not. She stood and listened to him as she refilled her cup.
She was still stirring when she sat down again. 'Drink it slowly this time Harl,' she told herself. "Fresh out of college you say? Where did you go? I personally went to Gotham U on a gymnastics scholarship. Even got my PhD." She smiled at her own achievements. She didn't need to mention that she nearly flunked out... or that being a psychiatrist at Arkham made her go schitzoid. That was all besides the point.

John shrugged. "I didn't go to a very prestigous college like Gotham University. I went to St. Joe's, which is a couple hours drive from here," He said, and set his cup of coffee down on the table beside the couch he was sitting on. "Gymnastics, wow," John laughed a little bit.
"I couldn't even touch my toes if I tried," He said and shook his head. "Anyway, I just got a degree in teaching, so nothing really special," John added and gave a small sigh. "So, what do you teach?" He asked her and shifted his position on the couch.

She tilted her head slightly in curiosity. She had never heard of St. Joe's before... but that didn't surprise her much. She had only been to a handful of places other that Gotham, though the other cities were big ones.
Harley set her own coffee down after one last sip and nodded. "Yeah. I got real talent when it comes to gymnastics. And fighting, but that's a different story." She smiled at his little comment. Touching toes was a challenge for people, she had come to realize.
The steam from the coffee seemed to be dancing, she wanted another sip that badly, but she was able to push it aside. "My class is called Psychology... but I do a little sociology mixed in to it. I don't have a teaching degree though. Just a psychology one." Harl leaned back a little bit. "And what about you? What do you teach, Mister Preston?" Her mind began to flutter towards thoughts of Jack Napier... The Joker, to put it in better terms. She missed him too much.
