Babs walked into the quiet Starbucks. There was one man in a corner typing away on his laptop. It seemed semi cliche in this day and age to have someone in a coffee shop and on a laptop. There was one other person on the big plush chairs reading a Vouge magazine. She made her way to the order taking/cash counter. "Hi" she said with a big friendly smile to the boy across the counter. "Can ah' have a tall raspberry lemonade?" she asked as she fished through her purse, to produce a $5.00. She handed it to the boy and adjusted her strapless yellow top as she made her way to the end of the counter.
She fiddled with the straps on her kitten heel yellow sandals, trying to knot them. They seemed to constantly be getting undone. She stood up, brushing her loose hair over her shoulder. She got her tea when it was called out and headed towards a bar stool table to wait for Achillies. She sat sipping through the straw as her eyes made their way over the various signs adorning the restaurant.

The Russian Greek manipulator of magnetics arrived only a few moments later, meeting at Starbucks had been her idea, he wasn't too fond of it, while its campaign of taste neutrality meant it didn't offend anyone and was highly accessible, it didn't provide him with the sense of stand out good coffee that he enjoyed from other stores. Still, he entered, gave a quick nod in Barbara's direction, and a hand gesture to let her know he was just getting a drink.
A minute or two later, he was sitting at a bar stool next to her, a plain black coffee in front of him. "So Barbara my dear, how's the day treating you?" he asked, his accent a toss up between where he was born and visited often, where he grew up, and the mothers place where he also spent oh so much time.

"Hey hunny" Babs said as she smiled happily. "It's been good. Been shoppin' on an' off all day an' the like." she said as she took another sip off of her drink. "How about you?" she asked as she cast a glance in his direction.
He was still rather good looking, even after all the time they had known each other. Since childhood. Wow, crazy that one could know another for that long time and not be related or married. Odd that he wasn't her normal type but he was still a shoulder to cry on and a great listener. And he had a inside to the world she had a foot in, men. If she did have a problem with some sort of clothing, Achillies was there to set her straight, as far as what was appealing.
"I met a sophomore tha otha' day. He was awful friendly and such." she said trying to apply some conversation.

"Its been fine, just another day really. Nothing amazing has happened." he continued, not in a tone that suggested he was in anyway unhappy, just...nothing had yet happen that would send him to bed content with his efforts of the day.
"A sophomore? Anyone I know?" he asked, there was only so many special individuals to occupy the South High School of Gotham, it was not an impossibly thing to consider that one would know people to any degree outside the usual hang about. You saw everyone in the hallways anyway.

"Ah' think his name was Drew. Ah' honestly can't rememba'. I stayed out too late tha' night before an' I had to do a report or somethin'." she said as she smiled and shrugged her shoulders.
"It's been a borin' work fer sure" she said as she sighed loudly. "Senior year ain't all it's been chocked up ta be"she said with a weak smile his way. "Met anyone new or anythin'? Ah'm so eager fer anythin' to be happenin at all!" she said as she slumped lower, leaning on her arm. She threw a silly smile up at Achillies, sticking her tongue out.
