Click. Click. Click.
"Never again. Never!" Babs said to herself, as she continued to type away on a computer. She was finishing a report, last minute. She had stayed late at a friends dorm and hadn't gotten back to hers in time.
"Where are ma' notes at?" Babs muttered to herself as she grabbed her backpack, and started shuffling through it.
She was wearing a pair of flared jeans with black heels and a black tank. She had applied her usual makeup and had on a pearl necklace and matching earrings. Her hair was loose and hung down her back.

Drew had been in the computer lab because he was sick of getting those dirty looks from the librarian. It wasn't his fault that his books were so heavy, every time he 'laid' them down they would make a huge crashing sound. He'd rather be in the computer lab anyway, it was more isolated than the library itself. He was finishing typing an essay for english, it was the one that he had written about the dragon that girl had been drawing. Drew didn't care that it may seem strange he was writing about a dragon, his other story sucked and the one with the dragon was better.
He saved the short story to his network folder and clicked on the icon that had the little image of a printer on it. Drew gathered his books together, but left them on the table, he needed to get his paper first. As he walked to the printer he heard someone that sounded pretty frustrated. He looked over at the girl on the computer, going through her bookbag. Maybe she needed help or something. Drew made it over to the printer, grabbed the paper and held it in his hand as he walked over towards the girl.
"You need help?" He asked her, raising one of his eyebrows. It was one of his habits, his mother said he could make it big time with that expression. Drew tucked his free hand into his jean pocket. He was wearing a pair of Nike running shoes and a grey t-shirt. It was only school, what was the whole point of dressing up? The saying "Dress for Success" never really made any sense to Drew. He gave the girl a small smile as he waited to see if she would reply.

Babs jumped slightly at the voice behind her. Her eyes fell upon a boy who fell into the mild tube for her. He looked awfully friendly though. A smile lit up her face as looked him over, a habit to anyone she had never seen before.
"Oh ah'm jus' lookin' fer ma' notes is all honey." she said as she waved a paper aimlessly at the computer. "I stayed out a lil' bit later than normal for ma' own good." she said with a little giggle to herself.
She looked back up at the one before her. "I don' think I've seen ya before here. Are ya a senior?" she asked as she zipped up her bag and scooted her chair to stare up at him.

Drew gave the girl a small smirk. "Well, by the way you sounded, it seemed pretty important." He said and felt like smacking himself in the face. He was sure that what he had just said made no sense at all, and now he looked like an idiot. So, Drew tried to cover it up by quickly answering her next question. "Uhm, no I'm a sophmore." He rocked back and forth on his heels, and just stared at her for a few moments.
She was looking up at him funny, and she even adjusted her chair to look at him. Drew turned to see if there was anyone else in the computer lab. There were only about two other people besides them, and they were on the other side of the room. He sighed and pulled a chair out from the empty computer station next to the girl and plopped down. Drew placed his short story on the table in front of him. There was an uncomfortable silence that he was willingg to break. "I'm Drew Wallace," He introduced himself and extended his hand. Even though he wasn't some old formal person, Drew always had a thing for handshakes. You can tell a lot about a person by the way they shake your hand.

"Just a paper is all honey" she said as she placed the notes on the keyboard. Babs eyes lit up at his answer. "A sophomore! Oh how ah' miss ma' sophomore year. It was so fun!" she said as she leaned back in the chair, her hands in her lap. "Oh jeezus! Sorry an' all. Ah'm Barbara Sarlin. Mos' everyone just calls me Babs or Barbie" she said with a big welcoming smile as she shook Drew's hand. It was a welcoming one. Not firm, but letting him know she was happy to meet him.
"So, how are ya' likin' South High? It bein' you sophomore year an' all. Like ah' said. Ah' had so much fun ma' year. Had the greatest teachers. Sometimes ah' miss that homework. This here Senior stuff. Bleh. Too much." she said as she stuck out her tongue at the last bit.

Drew gave her a small smile. He listened to her talk about how great being a sophmore was, when it wasn't really too different to him. Drew wasn't popular, he didn't have many friends, so it wasn't all that fun. "Yeah, it's pretty great," he lied through his teeth.
He finished shaking her hand set his on the computer counter. "Nice to meet you," Drew said politely. This was starting to get a little uncomfortable, but it was nothing he wasn't used to. "So, how are ya' likin' South High? It bein' you sophomore year an' all. Like ah' said. Ah' had so much fun ma' year. Had the greatest teachers. Sometimes ah' miss that homework. This here Senior stuff. Bleh. Too much."
Drew laughed a little. "I guess you had better teachers than I did when you were a sophmore. The ones I have are terrible!" He shook his head and played with his english paper on the desk. "This place is weird though, got a lot of weird people around here, especially teachers." The teachers he had run into in this place had fallen into two specific categories. They were either insane, or they were just mean.

"Oh tha teachers were tha worst!" Babs said with a little giggle. She glanced up at the clock on the far wall and made a mental note. "Are ya new to that school?" she asked as she looked at him with a smile.
She fiddled with the paper on her keyboard, highlighting certain parts and crossing out others. She placed the paper back down as she glanced at Drew again. He didn't look familiar but he was rather interesting. Part of her wanted to follow him around all day, to study him. He seemed so different from herself and Achillies. She supposed that was the Psychology class talking.

Drew laughed slightly and nodded. He didn't like any of his teachers and he was pretty sure none of them liked him. "Not so much, I've been going here for about a month now," He answered, after he had followed her eyes to the clock.
Drew looked over at the paper she was messing around with. "What class?" He asked, curiousness had taken over and he just had to ask. Anyway, he was a complete nerd so maybe he could help her out with whatever it was she had notes on. Drew stared down at his hands for a few moments, examining the lines and crevaces, before looking back up at Barbara.

"Oh this?" Babs said as she pointed at the computer screen. "This is for science. Ah' completely suck at this damn subject. I don't know why, but ah' do. Frusteratin' for sure." she said as she sighed and slumped in her chair.
"Ya would think that over so many years of leanin' science it would stick in this thick skull," she said as she tapped the side of her head with a little smirk to herself as she glanced at Drew.
"Mah best subject is history. This whole science an' math thing...it ain't doin' it for me" she said as she giggled. "What're your best subjects?"

Drew peered over at her computer screen when she gestured towards it. He laughed a little when she talked about how bad she was at the sunject. "Yeah, I wouldn't say I'm bad at science, but its my least favorite subject." Drew answered and nodded slightly. "Its not like we're ever going to need the stuff we learn in science in real life," He added and shook his head.
Drew smiled at her, "History, huh? He had to think about how he was going to work his question for a second, "what is your favorite time period?" Drew asked her, his was the 1940s, he was extremely interested in World War II. He pondered for only a second, before answering her question. "I guess..I would have to say English, because its mostly writing," he said and cocked his head to the side a little bit. Drew didn't want to brag, but he was in accelerated english for 6th, 7th and 8th grade.
