Another day and another life (Drew/open)

[Skyler McKay]

Skyler was near the pond behind the school. She had her hair up in a messy ponytail wearing jeans and a plain pink t-shirt. She had her backpack beside her and her sketchpad on her lap. Her two dogs laying beside her. Her Pit-bull clover she is all white, and her Dachshund Ivy she is light brown. Skyler was so bored she didn't know what to do. " I wish there was something to do at this school" Said Skyler under her breath. She looked at her sketchpad and then at the pond. She got a pencil from out of her bag. Then she started to sketch the pond and how the sun reflected off it. She tried too picture what the pond looked like from a birds eye view with herself and her two dogs near the pond.

Drew was really bored. He had all ready done all of his assignments, like the nerd he was, and had nothing to do whatsoever. So, he decided to talk a walk around the school, explore a little since half the time he gets lost traveling from class to class. He pushed open one of the double doors that had led outside, and continued his walk. It was rather early in the morning on a saturday, there were no classes, only detentions.

He was wearing a pair of blue jeans and a plain black t-shirt with his favorite Nike running shoes. As Drew made his way towards the pond, he noticed a girl there, sketching the pond/ What is with girls and drawing at this school? He wondered to himself and went over towards here. " I wish there was something to do at this school." Drew popped up next to her, and grinned. "Tell me about it."

Skyler heard someone coming and by the heavy foot steps she thought if was a guy. She kept sketching hoping the person would just past by her and not talk to her. Of course he came over and she was right it is a guy. She looked up and saw him grin. Wondering why he would come over to her. Ivy started to bark at him " shh Ivy, be nice" said Skyler. Ivy stopped barking and walked over to the stranger and sniffed at him. " I'm sorry about my dog Ivy" she said Ivy came back to her and went over to clover Skyler's other dog. " Hmm who are you I don't think I've seen you around" asked Skyler pointing to the spot next to her where her dogs weren't, for him to sit down.

Drew stared at the dog who had been barking at him, it was rather small. Once the dog started sniffing him he decided it would be safe to pet him, and he did. But not that much, because he always thought it was weird to pet some strangers dog. " I'm sorry about my dog Ivy." Drew shook his head slightly. "Hey, no problem." He answered and watched the dog run over with the girl's other dog.

"Hmm who are you I don't think I've seen you around" Drew went over and sat to where the girl had pointed to. "My names Drew," He said and fixed his legs so he was sitting pretzel style. "Since I told you, you have to tell me who you are now?" Drew gave her another one of his famous grins.

Skyler looked at him as he sat down next to her. " My name is Skyler, the Dachshund is Ivy, and the pit-bull is Clover " answered Skyler. She didn't return the smile, she rarely smiled. Clover got up and started to jump around and bark, it was a signal to Skyler that she wanted to play catch. She took a tennis ball out of her bag, then she got up and threw the ball as far as she could. Then she sat back down and looked at Drew. " So what brings you here to south high?" asked Skyler.

Clover came back with the ball and dropped it near Skyler. She picked up the ball, stood up and threw the ball again. Clover went for the ball and this time Ivy went with Clover. Skyler sat back down again " don't you wish there was something more to do on a Saturday, don't get me wrong I love spending time with my dogs. But it seem for a school the had students that have powers it seems kind of boring" said Skyler. Just thinking that she kind of just ranted which was rare for her.

Drew nodded. "Nice to meet you," He said politely because he couldn't think of something "cool" to say. Drew stopped smiling when she didn't smile back at him and stared at the lake while Skyler was playing with her dog. " So what brings you here to south high?" He shrugged and had to think about his answer. "I guess I feel I beling here. You know, because not everyone can turn invisible or...pick up an entire car or whatever other powers people have," Drew replied. "What about you?"

"Don't you wish there was something more to do on a Saturday, don't get me wrong I love spending time with my dogs. But it seem for a school the had students that have powers it seems kind of boring." Drew couldn't help but laugh a little bit at her comment. "Yeah, I know right?" He answered and held his head in his hand. "If only this school was like the college in Animal House, they had like road trips and toga parties and everything," He added. Yes, Drew was a huge fan of John Belushi. He looked at Skyler, awating her reaction.

Skyler looked at him "it's nice to meet you too" she said. Skyler nodded. " thats the reason I'm here too, I guess. I also feel like I can call this place my home, well at lest for now anyway" said Skyler. The dogs came back, Ivy was the one with the ball. Ivy dropped the ball near her. She looked at the ball not wanting to get up, she looked at the dogs faces and she couldn't say no. She picked up the ball yet again, and stood up. As she stood up she heard Drew say something to her about the movie animal house and something about a toga party. She threw the ball and both the dogs went running for it.

She sat back down and looked at Drew. She smiled at him on of her rare smiles at that. " Why don't we have a toga party. We could plan it if thats what you wanted to do?" asked skyler now waiting for him to answer.

Drew only nodded, it seemed that everyone was here for the same reasons. Or at least, some people. He spread his legs out in front of him, and stared up at the skt as she continued to play with her dogs. Drew tried point out any oddly shaped clouds, but there was none. It was a bright and sunny day with a clear blue sky. The only thing else to do was star at the sun until he was blind, which wasn't so fun so he quit that the moment he started.

"Why don't we have a toga party. We could plan it if thats what you wanted to do?" Drew gave her a blank look. "Are you serious?" It looked like she was. He tried to think of how a toga party at a gifted school would turn out like. Hopefully not as destructive as the one in the movie. "Yeah, sounds great." He said and sat up straight.

Skyler looked out across the pond. " The thing is where are we going to have it? " Said Skyler. She looked at her dogs wondering where they went. They could have it at the dorms. But who's dorm and how would they have it the dorms aren't that big. She also didn't want her dorm room a mess from the party.

The dogs came back. This time Clover had the ball, she dropped it near Skyler. Clover then lied down near her and so did Ivy. Skyler looked around then looked at her sketchpad. She picked her sketchpad up and started to sketch what she thought the dorms looked like.

Drew had to think about this for a couple of moments, where would they have it? "Well, I don't think the school would let us use the gymnasium..I doubt they'd even allow a toga party. But we're having one anyway," He said, though he hadn't actually answered her question. "I guess we could use a couple of dorms that are generally in the same area. I have some freinds that are near mine," Drew answered. The whole toga party thing was starting to take shape.

"I could help out with the band, I think I'm a pretty good singer," He added and smirked. "This thing could really work," Drew said outloud to no one in particular, he was just excited.

Skyler looked out across the pond. He was right they couldn't have it at the gymnasium. She looked at him then the dogs and thought about them not allowing them to have this party. Well she didn't really care she was hiding her two dogs in her dorm room and she rides her skateboard every where around campus. Which neither of them she wasn't allowed to do.

Then she listened to what Drew said about the dorms. She thought it could work, but then she remembered something. " Maybe we don't have to have it at the dorms" said Skyler. Now thinking he probably thought she was crazy. " Ok hold on, what I meant was I know the principle and I think I can get him to let us have the party at the gymnasium" She said in more detail.

She thought about the band. " Ok that could work, oh! and I can play the piano or the keyboard. I can also sing a little, but what about the rest. We need to find someone to who can play the other stuff " Skyler said.

Drew only looked at her. "Okay, see what you can do with the whole gym thing, I really doubt the principal would want a toga party on the school grounds... But you said you knew him, so it might work," He said and stared off into the pond.

"We could post sign-ups on the bulletin board. And maybe we could ask the Glee club to help," Drew smiled, and leaned back into the grass. "I can really see this thing working, can't you?" He asked Skylar as he looked up into the sky.

Skyler thoguht abotu the princable. She knew how he was and she didn't think he would mind as lond as we cleaned up after the party. She looked around wondering what else they needed for the party. They needed to get something to make the togas. They also needed to know what to have at the party for food and drink. " Ok that sounds good you want to do that while I see about the whole gym thing " She asked.

" yes I can see this working" she answered. " Ok we got the place for the party if not the gym then the dorms. We also have away to get the band. Now we need to figure out what are we going to have food and drink wise" said Skyler.

Drew nodded, still lying down and staring at the sky. "Bribe the cafeteria ladies? I dunno, maybe we could get a teacher to hook us up or something. He suggested, and then sat up straight. Drew was restless for some reason, he didn't know why. Maybe this whole toga party thing was having some effect on him, afterall, Animal House was one of his favorite movies of all time.

'Have you ever seen Animal House?" He asked her, giving her a curious look. If not, then they'd have to watch it sometime. Just to see how to make their toga party not a total drag, because the Animal House party is the definition of a super amazing toga party.

Skyler looked at drew. " Bribe them with what? hmm I don't know any teachers, well beside the principle" She said. She took her sketchpad and started to sketch the gym. " Hmm what about decorations? I don't really know much about toga party's " said Skyler.

" No I have not seen animal house. But I guess I should if there one of these toga party things in it" she said. She looked at her dogs. Lazy things they were. She looked around trying to think of what else they would need for the party. " Are we missing anything else?" asked Skyler.
