Two-Face walked into the library, both his hands in his pocket. One gripped his lucky coin tightly, he would need it on deciding whether to get a book, newpaper or magazine. He was only in the library because he was bored out of his mind though, so he might walk out empty handed. Two-Face browsed around for a little bit.
Then he came upon a bin of yesterdays papers. Should I take one?
[/color] He flipped his coin, and looked at the answer. Two-Face quickly pocketed the coin and picked up the paper. The main headline read Where is the Batman. He groaned, he didn't give a damn about stupid Batman. Hell, it was his fault he is the way he is now. Two-Face quickly dropped the paper back into the bin and continued looking.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Victoria sighed. She had absolutely nothing to do, and she was done practically with every other book she owned. It was going to be hard for her to decide what to read. shrugging her shoulder's, she walked into the library. It seemed practically empty. A sly smile formed on her face. Empty meant quiet and quiet was good. She couldn't even hear her others. Thank god she learned how to put up those mental barriers finally.
Victoria roamed up and down the aisles, looking for a good book to read. She finally came to see a section filled with Anne Rice, Charlaine Harris, and Stephan King. The young girl nearly screeched at the sight of it. Three of her favorite authors, all in the same aisle! She picked up book after book. Soon her arms were full of books, covering her face.
Walking carefully, she inched towards the check out, making sure to pass the magazine section for any good mags and newspapers. She was doing fine up until she heard the metallic clink of a coin flipping in the air. Who was it? She could only guess. Shaking her head lightly, she continued to walk. She wasn't paying much attention. Not looking, she accidentally walked into someone in front of her. The girl fell, fumbling with the books in her hand. The books fell all around the two. Blushing in embarrassment, she started to pick up the books.

Dent was about to turn and walk the other. That is, until he was hit with a ton a books someone was carrying. "God damn!" He exclaimed. The one time he decided to go to the library he gets bombarded with stupid books. Dent flipped his coin. Should I 'hurt' whoever it was that hit me? The coin said no. He grumbled and looked to see what smart ass did it.
Two-Face gasped. "Victoria?" He questioned. Dent and Victoria had a past. They had dated for a little while, but then Dent had to leave. Apparently, the cops found out he killed a Starbucks cashier, so he was locked away in, guess where, Arkham. He hadn't talked to her since, because he thought it would be a little weird. he wasn't as careless as he used to be, he was a lot more serious now. Two-Face cleared his throat. "Uh, these your books?" He asked, and knelt down to help pick her books up. The coin said not to her her, it didn't say not to help her.

Victoria gasped as she looked up. "Harvey?" She was confused, beyond confused. And those damn butterflies filled her stomach again. Like when she first met him. She quickly looked down again and continued to pick up the books. Then he had to ask her if they were hers. Her cheeks became a light pink. His voice. O how she had missed hearing it. "Y-yes, yes, they're mine," she stated simply.
She felt the air around them tense up a bit as he knelt down to help her. Vi had to try and breath through her mouth instead of her nose. Blinking, she looked up again. This was awkward, very awkward. She was still practically in love with the teacher, and yet... 'Oh my! Look who came out of the coffin! If it ain't little ol' Harvey Dent.'[/i] Victoria's mental shield had slipped. She couldn't seem to keep it up with Dent near her. "So, you're back?" She asked. She had heard that he was back, but she didn't know if she should believe it or not.

Harvey handed the few books he picked off the floor to her. He then stuck his hands back into his pockets, it was a habit of his. "Yeah, yeah I'm back. I don't know for how long though. Knowing my life, something will probably go horribly wrong in about a week or two.." He muttered. It was the story of his life. Things start going good, then all of a sudden disaster strikes. Like with that stupid Starbucks cashier. He couldn't even remember what he did, but all he knew was that he got angry and killed the guy.
"Sooo...how's life?" Two-Face asked. You could say he wanted to know how she's been doing, or maybe he was just trying to be polite. He watched the clock, he still had about ten minutes before his break was over. Then he had to go back and teach ungrateful brats about politics. Dent almost laughed when he remembered the faces of the students when they first saw who would be teaching them. Half of them probably knew who he was, and the other half was freaked out by his face, most likely. Sometimes it was fun to scare people.

She bit the inside of her as she gingerly took her books from his hand. A giggle seemed to purr in her throat as she noticed him put his hands in his pockets. Old habits die hard. Listening, she felt her emotions grow from nervous to happy. "I hope you can stay longer than just one or two weeks," Victoria replied. 'Ya still got a think for Denty, i see,'[/i] Vironica sneered in her mind. She tried her hardest to ignore it.
Sighing, she gazed helplessly into his eyes. "Sooo...how's life?"[/i] She shook her head as lightly as she could, returning to the real world. "My life? Ummm, not much different since you left. Though it hasn't been as much fun. There's nothing to do an' my parole officer and Psychiatrist are forcin' me to come to school again," She said, though as the words left her lips, Vi wished that she could pull them back. It was true, she had stopped going to school when Harvey was jailed, but she didn't want to tell him. 'Damn emotions! Why can't i be normal?'[/i] she inwardly cursed herself.
Looking down, the Junior tried to avoid further eye contact. "And what about your life? How long ago did ya get out.. Ha-er, Mister Dent?"

Harvey nodded at her comment. "I do, too." He was only half telling the truth. Dent didn't want to tell her about his little deal with the Arkham phsychiatrist. It was either this damn school, or his stupid cell at the asylum. He would rather be terrorizing the streets of Gotham right about now, he would have probably been rich by now, since the Bat hasn't been around in a while. But noooo! He was here. Teaching politics. Dent peered over at the clock again.
"You left school?" Harvey asked and shook his head. "Victoria, education is extremely important. You can't just blow it off." He said, and sighed. "I thought you were smarter than that." Dent looked down at his suit and growled. He just noticed that there was a blood stain on it, from the Joker when they ran into each other a few nights ago. Harvey straightened it out and thought about Victoria's question. "About a week ago. And my life is as screwed up as ever." He said and shrugged.

Victoria looked away as he talked to her. She knew that she shouldn't have left, but what was the point? It wasn't like most of these teachers took life seriously. Vi listened to him though, knowing he was right. "I know... I know." Her voice seemed to take a regretful tone. The girl was immensely upset about it now... that and the fact that she was stupid enough to tell Harvey what she did. "I am smarter than that... it's just. I don't know! I couldn't look at these walls anymore. My cell in Arkham seemed like a better idea than here." A growl coming from his throat made her look up. 'Blood? Why's there blood on H.D.'s shirt?'[/i] Vivi shook her head in responding to Vivian's question.
"I'm sorry," Victoria whispered, still on the fact of her absence at the school. "About a week ago. And my life is as screwed up as ever." She looked up. "Why? And how? How is your life screwed up? You never seemed to have that bad of a life... if you disregard what the Joker did to ya."

Harvey shook his head and sighed. "Its to complicated, and I don't feel like explaining it." He said, as he checked the clock one last time. His break was up. "I have to go." Dent added, looked at Victoria for about two seconds, and then just walked away. He knew that his exit wasn't that smooth, but he did have things to do. Harvey felt extremely bad for leaving Victoria, but Two-Face didn't really see what the big deal was. Of course, Two-Face was a selfish, arrogant person, and Harvey was the opposite. But, Harvey didn't go back. He was a busy man, and needed to get his work done. Maybe they will run into each other some time soon. Or maybe not.

Vi held the books tightly, looking up at Harvey. And he had to go. She was greatly saddened about that and yet, she felt happiness as well. She stared into his eyes two seconds longer, nodded and stood up slowly. And she walked away. Victoria went to check out the books and quickly left the library. "What do i have next?" she asked herself. "Oh yeah, journalism... Oh who cares. Lets drop these off at home." and with that she headed towards her apartment.
