Lydia had had mixed feelings of leaving her - now diminished - family and starting school at South High. Sure, she'd needed it to get away from the ones still alive. She so wished that this wasn't the case, but after what happened, and with her knowledge of it, she couldn't look them in the eye anymore. It hurt to see them in pain, knowing that it was her fault it had happened. It was her fault her father was dead.
But a new school would be good for her. No one here would know what had happened, she wouldn't have to tell anyone at all. Here, Lydia could just be Lydia West, the new student from Ohio. Simple as that.
Suddenly remembering where she was, she looked around as she stood outside the main entrance to the school. It was still quite early, and there weren't many people around yet thank god. Taking a deep breath, she started to walk into the school.
South High School, meet Lydia West.

Diana had always loved mornings. Even if the sun didn't have a clean cut horizon full of cascading waterfalls to peek over, the sunrises were still miraculous. They were proof of the Gods. A sure sign that Apollo rose every morning, that he still cared. A part of Diana was relieved each time she saw the great ball of fire rise, realizing that her Gods had not yet abandoned her.
So she rose at the carck of dawn every morning in her humble apartment and strapped on Hermes' sandals, flying to the roof to enjoy the glory that was a sunrise. She wasn't sure if she could get through the day without that precious fifteen minutes she spent worshipping the glory of Apollo.
After basking in the sun's glow, Diana returned to her room and put on the guise of 'Diana Prince, high school teacher'. Today was her first time doing this. It was...frightening, to say the least. Just because she was an Amazon Princess Warrior, and the woman who had defeated Ares himself, didn't mean she didn't get nervous. Teenagers...she, certainly, had been one not too long ago, but she herself was the only teen she had ever known. What if they were different? What if she couldn't handle them?
She tucked her dark curls up into a bun and slipped on a sleek jacket, pressing the glasses she wore up her nose and examining herself in the mirror curiously. She could handle this. She had handled Ares, surely teens couldn't be too different? She gave a nod and returned to Hermes' sandals, using them to return to the roof where her invisible jet was tucked. She didn't own a car. Ideally she would soon be able to simply fly everywhere on her own, without aid of Hermes' sandals, but until then she had her inspiring invisible jet, the pinnacle of Amazon technology, and she wasn't about to let that go to waste.
She landed not far from the school, and covered the remaining ground in a quick flight, tucking Hermes' sandals in her briefcase and exchanging them for a pair of black pumps. With a final adjustment to her outfit, Diana took her first step into South High-and caught her first sight of a student.
She grinned. "Greetings. Are you a student here?" she asked the strange girl, eager to meet her first student...
