Rose huffed as she wheeled her luggage to her new room. She had requested a room change, girl she used to be with didn't like pets and wasn't a night person in the least. And since she had a relative that was a teacher, even if she barely likes that family member, and that got the switch a bit quicker.
She reached the room and opened the door. No one was in there at the moment. "Oh good," the southern girl said. "Ah got some privacy while ah unpack!" That made her happy. She didn't bother to look at the other side of the room and she immediately began to unpack.
About an hour later, all of her clothes were unpacked, her few stuffed animals were on her bed, her books were neatly put on a shelf, and her five or so posters of Tim McGraw were up on the walls. "Perfect," She said as she fall onto her bed. She had an extra soft comforter that cushioned her and her two kittens, Alice and Ches, curled up next to her.
Rose was lying there for a few minutes before the door opened. 'Oh, yippee. Mah new roomy's home,' She thought. The young shifter stood up and smiled at the door as her new roommate came inside.

There was nothing like leaving after yet another detention to walk up to your dorm and do a few hours work of homework. Yipee... Not. It wasn't like she actually intended to do any of it, though. Instead, she was going to chill out for a while, head down for a late dinner and spend the rest of her waking hours either drawing or out of the school grounds against the rules and all. Possibly both. But first, she needed to dump her bag at her dorm. As of yet, she didn't have a dorm partner, unless someone had moved in while she was at detention. Smirking slightly at the thought, Kazza pushed open her dormitory door. The grin slid off her face as she saw someone standing in the room, though.
Closing the door quietly, Kazza tilted her head to one side curiously, taking a few minutes to look at her new room-mate. "Uhh... Hi?" She tried slowly, walking over to her own bed and dumping her tattered backpack, Arrow rushing in after her, his black-and-white tail whipping through the air like a knife. He stood loyally beside the teenager, gazing at the new coming. It was all very silent for a moment, and Kazza got the feeling that maybe she should say something... Maybe she should, but she probably wouldn't.

Alice and Ches jumped off of the bed to examine the new comers dog. Rose suppressed the giggle that was forming in her throat. Her two cats always were very curious critters. Blinking her eyes a couple of times, she took a moment to examine the girl standing in front of her. She was pretty, and she smelled different. Not human? "Perfect!" she mumbled, but it was sincere.
After a moment, she smiled and took a few steps towards the girl. "Well, howdy. Mah name's Rose Lynne Tyler and ah'm guessin' that yer a shifter of some sort?" She asked. If Rose was anything, she was blunt about things. She breathed in through her nose lightly and nodded her head. "Ah'mma go out on a limb here, but ah am guessin' that yer a were?"
Rose heard Alice purring and she giggled. Both of her cats were rubbing up against the other girls leg. "Ah think they like you. That white one is Alice and the black on is Ches." She pointed to the two cats. "Now, may ah ask what yer name is, seein' in which we're gonna be roomin' together for a bit?"

As the two cats approached, Arrow blinked in slight confusion, before wagging his tail energetically again, sniffing the felines eagerly. He turned to Kazza, panted, twitched his ears and relaxed his shoulders. Immediately, the teenager knew that the girl and her pets would be of no immediate threat. She trusted her friend on matters such as these. After a few seconds of relative silence aside from the animal's curious investigations and all the sounds that no normal human would pick up, the other girl spoke up. "Well, howdy. Mah name's Rose Lynne Tyler and ah'm guessin' that yer a shifter of some sort? Ah'mma go out on a limb here, but ah am guessin' that yer a were?" There was a brief pause for breath and appraisal between the two sentences, but the break in conversation which followed was considerably longer, as Kazza sniffed the air, frowning slightly. "Yeah, I'm a were. Seeing as you even know what a were is, and you believe in them, I'm going to guess that you're a were-wolf too. My apologies if you're a were-croc or something like that..." She trailed off as the two felines purred and rubbed against her legs. Her feline was a bit rusty, so she wasn't quite sure what they were saying.
"Ah think they like you. That white one is Alice and the black on is Ches." Rose commented, pointing to each respective cat as she stated their name and colour. "Now, may ah ask what yer name is, seein' in which we're gonna be roomin' together for a bit?" Kazza knelt and gently stroked Alice and Ches, taking care not to press too hard on their backs, staring out the window while she talked. "Name's Kazza, the Siberian Husky is Arrow... If you see a rat, don't kill it, that'll be Junn... 'Scuse me a sec, I think someone's at the window..." Rising and walking slowly to the window, Kazza pulled it open in one swift motion, remaining totally calm as two feathered creatures swooped in, banking and landing smoothly on her bed. At a whistle, the two took flight again and ended up perched on Kazza's shoulders. She acted as though this was a daily occurrence, as the grey bird turned its red eyes on Rose and tilted its head curiously to one side, almost like it was asking who she was.
"So... Now you've met my family... Do you mind if I head down for dinner? I only just got out of detention..." She asked hopefully, wanting nothing more than to wolf down a nice hearty meal, no pun intended.

Rose giggled a little. "Not completely wrong, though ya ain't entirely right either. Ah'mma shape shifter! Ah can turn inta any type o' canine er feline... Ah don' think ah can turn into a croc, but that would be neat ta try sometime." She watched her pets as they purred sweet nothings. 'You're really pretty,' Alice mewed. Ches seemed to become a little jealous when he heard Alice say that, so he walked away and hid under the bed, clawing at the ground.
"Well, it sure is a pleasure ta meet ya, Kazza. And same with you, Arrow. Yer a real cutie, ain't ya," she cooed. She watched the girl and a look of surprise fluttered onto Rose's face as she saw the birds. Shaking her head lightly, she waved.
"So... Now you've met my family... Do you mind if I head down for dinner? I only just got out of detention..."
"Sure, sure... do ya mind if ah come wit' ya? Ah haven't eaten since breakfast and ah sure am hungry."
