Same Old Thing[CONRAD/OPEN]

[Rikaeyu Osomage]

Rikaeyu yawned softly and stretched out her arms and legs. The moon was high and it was pretty full that night. "What a beautiful moon, don't you think?" She heard a caw of approval from up above her. The raven landed lightly on its masters shoulders and nuzzled up against the nape of her neck. "You are such a beautiful bird, Edgar," She whispered to the bird.

She sighed and leaned her head against the tree. If she was caught, she would get in trouble, and that was a fact. It was definitely past curfew. But Rikku didn't care. "Yuyu, are you alright? You seem... distant," the bird cooed in its master's ear. Rikku laughed lightly. "I am fine. The moon is bright and nearly full and it is a clear sky. The Goddesses are in our favor tonight, my dear."

The young shape-shifter smelled the air. She didn't catch anything that seemed out of the norm. From what she scented, she was completely alone. Then again, there was a light breeze blowing lightly against her face. Surely that would affect what she scented. It wasn't like she cared. Rikku closed her eyes, taking in the wonderful smells and soon sleep befell her.

She figured that she had been asleep for ten minutes. Rikku could have sworn that she heard some sort of rustling behind her. "Hello?" she said, a bit loudly. For once, she was not hiding her thick greek accent. "Who is there?"

The wolf placed one paw in front of the other and stepped out of the bushes, letting out a low growl as he did so. He began to slowly walk around the side of the female until he was directly in front of her, his bright yellow eyes glaring at her. The wolf snarled slightly, baring his teeth as he did so, whilst getting into a position as though ready to attack. His eyes stayed locked onto the female.

Conrad Gallagher had placed himself on watch duty over that night, his role was basically to defend the school grounds and to make sure all students were safe in their rooms. After his run in with Chase Pennington earlier that day the fresh air would so him good. Plus he got to be in his wolf form for the night which was a bonus. That very same wolf was now the one in front of the girl.

Snarling again the wolf continued to stare at the female before finally looking up at the sky and letting out an enormous howl. It was loud enough to be heard at the school and would easily alert the teachers. The wolfs head dropped back down and once again he stared at the place where the female was.

Edgar flapped up to a branch and watched as a wolf revealed itself to her and began to growl. She felt a growl of her own rose up in the back of her human throat. Then a familiar smell filled her nostrils. He was a shifter... like her? Her eye began to twitch slightly as his howl filled the air. He was staring at her again after that.

Rikku's growl became deeper as she began to change into a black wolf. Her shoes slipped off as well as her socks and gloves but everything else stayed on her. Cracking bones and stretching ligaments signaled the change to her and within a moment she stood as a wolf.

The young shifter wriggled out of the loose clothes, wishing that she had worn tighter fitting ones. That way, her clothes would have change with her. Rikku got into a defensive stance with her tail in the air and white paws stretched out in front of her. Her growl was a warning to back away or she wouldn't hesitate to attack.

The wolf stared in amazement as the girl changed into a wolf, he had always thought that he was the only shifter. This just proved him wrong. One thing on his mind was how she had changed without ripping her clothes to pieces and screaming in pain, for some reason that always happened whenever he changed. It would be nice to be abe to change back into a human and actually have clothes on rather than be completely exposed to everyone. Especially in those times when the switch back was forced upon him and he couldn't stop it.

He slowly began to circle the new wolf, a loud growl in his throat as he did so. He was ready to attack. His nose twitched slightly as it caught the scent of the wolf and of her clothing. That was slightly weird. And totally wrong. Shaking his head slightly the wolf pushed everything out of his mind and pounced at the female, his fangs aiming for the other wolfs neck as he did so. No one was going to try put him into place, and no other shifter was going to intrude on his territory.

Rikku snarled at him and began to circle the other wolf. This was her territory, or at least she thought it was. She wasn't going to let him do anything to it. She heard Edgar flapping his so she flicked her tail lightly to quiet him.

'Never attack first, never attack first.' she kept on telling herself this in her mind. She was slightly surprised when this other wolf pounced on her. Rikku rolled and moved just a fraction of a second too late, so she was on her back when he landed on her. Rikaeyu gnashed her teeth at him, aiming for the same spot he was. She let out a small yelp when his teeth grazed her neck.

Now she was mad. Using her hind legs, she kicked up, hoping to get him off. The second he was off of her, she would have the chance to attack him.

The wolfs teeth managed to graze the females neck. That was a result. Unfortunately though he was thrown off her and came to a crashing halton his back. That hurt slightly but he could handle it. He had been in plenty of fights before and most of them were worse than this.

Getting back to his feet the wolf darted towards the female and attempted to leap over her. He had no intention of killing or majorly wounding the female, he just wanted to weaken her so that she wouldn't be able to harm anyone, shifters and most importantly wolves are dangerous and very protective. That was probably why Con was even hired at this place, so that he could protect the school. Fair play really, take the current situation for example, Conrad was protecting people. The downside was that he could end up attacking the wrong person, a student maybe?

Rikku began to breath deeply as she got back on to her feet. She was baring her teeth at the wolf and keeping a close eye on it. Then she realized something. 'This is not a normal wolf,' she thought. That surprised her a bit. And she had thought she was the only one.

When he leaped at her the next time, she quickly dodged it and turned back around to face him. If this was a teacher, she would get in trouble. She didn't need that. Her features had softened and she sat up straight. The shifter was no longer snarling at him, but she did have an authoritative look.

"I do not want to hurt you, mister," she barked. Rikaeyu perked up her ears. "And if you are a teacher, i do not want to have to leave the school because i accidentally hurt you." Rikku was calm and relaxed as she rolled over to her belly and showed her neck. She didn't want to do that, but it was a respectful sign of surrender.

Conrad had managed to land firmly on his feet, he turned to face the female and snarled slightly as he got ready to attack again. ""I do not want to hurt you, mister," That was weird, the voice seemed to come from the other wolf, how was that possible? "And if you are a teacher, I do not want to have to leave the school because I accidentally hurt you." Conrad just stared, his head now tilted to one side.

It got even weirder when the female seemed to roll over, all Conrad could do was blink and wonder what the heck was going on. Gently clawing at the ground he seemed to sigh before casually strolling up to the female, he sat down next to her and gently nuzzled his nose into her neck before licking at the place that his teeth had caught her earlier.

Conrad was one of the friendliest people you could ever meet, even when he was a wolf, he would never want to cause any harm to anyone and if he did then he always apologised in some way. Shuffling his paws slightly he tilted his head again and stared at the female, "you won't get in trouble don't worry, this can just stay between us, no one needs to know."

Rikku closed her eyes lightly, wondering if the other wolf would nip at her neck. The only shifters she had ever met were in Greece and they always nipped lightly in response to a surrender. It surprised her when she felt him lick the spot he had nipped earlier.

When she felt him stop, she rolled back onto her feet and sat up, cocking her head and staring at him as well. She was sort of just mimicking him. Finally, she heard him speak.

"You won't get in trouble don't worry, this can just stay between us, no one needs to know."

Rikku dipped her head lightly. "Then I thank you sir." She then diverted her eyes down to her paws. "My names Rikaeyu, by the way. Rikaeyu Osomage." She didn't really know what she wanted to say to him.

Conrad bowed his head slightly when she thanked him, it was sort of strange having this little encounter, he'd never met another shifter before and he just had this weird feeling. "My names Rikaeyu, by the way. Rikaeyu Osomage." That was weird, a girl with that name had signed up for Math tutoring, well an early introduction was always a good start, at least this way they could get to know each other before the work began. "I'm Conrad, Conrad Gallagher. Maths teacher at the school." The wolf gently placed his paw on one of the female's paws.

Tilting his head to the side again Con stared at the female, "how come when you change you get to keep your clothes? and how come you don't scream?"[/b] It bothered him slightly that she could do that yet he couldn't, his clothes always got ripped to pieces and shifting always seemed to put him through immense pain, how come she didn't have those problems?

Conrad? Hm, she heard that name before. "I guess that this is good luck. I get to meet my tutor before hand," she slightly mumbled this, not really knowing if he heard her or not. Rikku was shifting her eyes from side to side but keeping her head down. No way could she look into the other persons eyes.

Suddenly, a strange sensation went through her paw as she felt him placing his paw on top of hers. She immediately looked up. Her wolf eyes were a strange purple, which is what told a lot of people that she wasn't a real animal.

"How come when you change you get to keep your clothes? And how come you don't scream?"

Riyu yawned lightly and blinked. That was a good question. And she hoped that her answer would be good enough. "Well, the clothes... that is a lot of practice and on very large animals, they still will rip. As for the pain... It isn't that i do not feel it, it is that i am used to it. I have felt worse pains. Have you ever been stabbed or hit by a car? In your animal skin? I am used to the pain... but, it too, gets less with practice." She lifted her free paw lightly and licked it. It was better than licking the other wolf's paw.

Conrad took everything she said in, it all made perfect sense and was a good enough answer for him. Taking his paw away from the female's Con began to gently claw at the ground again, "it would be preferable for us to talk as humans, just because the sight of two wolves would be frightening for any person passing by and because it seems strange talking to you as a wolf..."

The wolf stood up and shook his fur, dirt from his collision with the ground flying everywhere. He bowed his head slightly before licking at the female's face for a few seconds. Taking a step back Con seemed to wink before turning and running away, "be right back, just need to get some clothes." He disappeared into the bushes making a lot of noise as he ran through them.

She listened to him attentively and nodded. "Definitely. Two wolves in the middle of the school grounds would definitely intimidate any walking students or teachers." The second he took his paw off of hers, she moved it. She let her head fall a bit, not expecting him to lick her face. Her purple eyes got a little wide but quickly went back to their normal size. She was happy that she was in he wolf skin... she didn't want this person to see her blushing.

"Be right back, just need to get some clothes."

She nodded and watched as he ran off. Rikku sighed, picking her clothes up with her teeth and then hiding in the bushes as she shifted back to her human form and got dressed. "Much better," she said, stretching her arms lightly. She walked back over towards the tree and sat down again, putting her gloves, socks, and shoes on.

Edgar flew down onto her shoulder and nuzzled its beak into her neck. "Now we wait, Edgar baby," she whispered.

Conrad took about five minutes to get to the school, go to his office, become a human and get changed. He then took another ten minutes to get back to the field. Being a human was such a drag, it was annoying and everything seemed to take a really long time to do. Finally getting to his destination Conrad slowly made his way over to where the female was. Her human appearance was no suprise to him, after all he had seen her like this just before they had got into that fight. He smiled as he got closer to her.

His appearance was much different to how he normally looked when working in the school. Normally he would just wear his black pants, shirt and tie but today he was wearing a full pinstripe suit with a brown trenchcoat, this appearance seemed to change who people thought he was, one student had strolled past him earlier in the day and called him The Doctor. Doctor of what? He was just the Math teacher, and that is what he had said to the student.

'Why are you even waiting for this guy, Riyu?' Edgar cawed. "He is a shifter and i want to get to know another shifter, Edgar." 'Why do I not believe you?' "Believe what you want. He is a teacher and I a student. Nothing could possible..." She began to trail off when she saw Con coming towards her. She felt the raven that was on her shoulder shake its head before flying off. 'I am going back to your dorm, Riyu.' Rikku shook her head and rolled her eyes. "Don't scare Selene as you go in!" She shouted after the creature.

Rikaeyu blinked her eyes a couple of times before turning her attention towards the now human shifter. "You look... nothing like i though you might, sir." She patted the ground next to her, indicating for him to sit down. "Come, sit. You should sit down with me so we can talk."
