Chase walked up the street that South High School was located off of. That was the one thing Chase liked about Gotham City, you could walk almost anywhere if your apartment is in the right place. Luckily, her apartment is located righ tin central Gotham. Chase had the morning paper in one hand, which read “Where has the Batman been?”, like the city needed anymore Batman drama, and she had her coffee in the other hand, which was the only thing that could kickstart her day.
She yawned as she staggered into the parking lot of the school. Earlier that day, she had run into someone who worked at South High at Starbucks. His name was Jack, and he was really strange, or atleatst, thats what she thought. He had those scars, they were really scary looking. Chase had thought about him most of her walk to the school, there was just something about him that didn’t seem right to her, but she couldn’t seem to put her finger on it.
Chase shook her head, that is the last thing she needed to think about, today, she had to teach and judging from the day before, teaching sucks all ready. Students are extremely rude and irresponsible, they think they can get away with everything just because their ‘special’. That annoyed her more than that stupid Jason Derulo song. As she started to walk up the stairs into the school, she started to look at her feet, which was a stupid idea since there were people walking in all around her. Chase started to pick here head up, but just before that she accidently ran into someone with her head.
“Oh, crap! I’m so sorry, I wasn’t looking where I was going.” She said, quickly to whoever it was she bumped into.

Kenny was off toward the skateboarding park to meet Embry and Jakob, his fellow Skateboarders and rebellions, just so they could goto class together like always. He carried his skateboard in one hand, his school bag in the other. He had the usual Etnies on as he wouldn't go anywhere without them. He walked along the corridor, swerving around people. He did hit someone in the end, but, not someone he was expecting. It was a soft thud on his right, muscular shoulder.
"Thats alright Mrs..."Kenny Paused. He knew she was too old to be a student but he was worried in case she was. "You teach here, right?" He asked. He wasn't the sort to leave people. He waited for her response. He looked at her with his Grey eyes, examining her, trying to figure out things about her like, Teacher or Student? Kind or moody? Loads of questions went through his head but only a few were answered just by looking at her. He smiled, well to be honest, he beamed at her.
"I'm Kenny Rabbits. From Ireland as you can tell by the accent." Kenny said with a little laugh "I'm aiming to become a professional Skateboarder." He was glad that he had spoken his name first, he preferred introducing himself without being asked. He put his bag down and offered her his hand to shake.

Eddy was walking from the gymnasium to the office. His office. Yeah he had a goddamn office. So what. He was getting old. Despite the fact that he looked 39 he was really almost twice that age. His weight training class was rather popular. Had little dirtbag kids from all over pumping iron everyday. Meant he'd have something to do with his day besides trying to sort out sports and activities. He saw Ms. Pennigton and that punk in his weights class with the spunk. What was his name again? The handsome man grinned as he walked by the two, toothpick between his teeth.
[yellow]"Kid. I bet you're pretty fast. Ever think about Football?"[/yellow]
He needed more Running Backs and Wides on his team. There were too many big guys and not enough smaller. Kid was a skater but The Comedian could bet that there was more to this kid then just a hobby. He was one of the harder workers in his class. He could bet...
He checked out Ms. Pennington as he pulled the toothpick outta his teeth. [yellow]Nice ass..[/yellow] He thought.

Chase nodded at the young skater, answering his question that she did work here. She had just noticed that in the process of bumping into him, she had dropped her coffee, but she didn't know where. Maybe it ended up on another teachers shoes or something, but she didn't really care. Chase shook his hand softly. "Chase Pennington, uh, I'm Italian..and I'm an English teacher." She said, trying to grasp how stupid she sounded by saying she was italian, she didn't even have an accent, so what was the point?
Chase only nodded again at the kid, when he was talking about becoming a proffesional skateborder. Like she really cared what he was aiming to become. Just then a man walked up to the both of them, with a toothpick in his mouth. She looked at him for about two seconds thinking only one thing, what the hell was with the toothpick? Did he had food stuck in his teeth, or was he just trying to look cool? She didn't know, hell, she didn;t even know why she was thinking about it. Her brain must have been scrambled or something when she ran into Kenny or something.
Chase stared for a couple more seconds, before remembering that she should introduce herself. "I'm Chase Pennington, and I teach English. I don't think I've met you before..." Her voice trailed off as she held her hand out for a handshake.

Kenny nodded when she spoke her name. "Italian, cool." Kenny said. He turned to see a man with a toothpick. He look rather young - around forty. He had a toothpick in his mouth, this looked like a plea for peoples attention and looked rather stupid as the only people he saw with toothpicks of some sort were farmers. Kenny shook his head lightly. He hated football, any physical sport he hated. He picked up his bad and put it over his shoulder. He shifted it a bit and then replied to the man.
"I'm not into Football. People get hurt too easily." Kenny explained "I'm guessing your hoping I'll join the team. Depends what positions are left anyway.". He watched as the guys expression changed when he looked at Chase. He smirked. He knew what the guy was doing and agreed, she was good looking but she was too old for Kenny, way too old. It felt weird socializing with teachers but, he didn't mind. He knew Jakob and Embry were angry with him cause he was late but, he would make something up.
"And I'm Kenny Rabbits." Kenny said with a smile to the guy, it was a warm and friendly smile with a hint of I-don't-know-who-you-are in it.

Eddy shook Chase's hand. In the same token he saw the looks from both of them about the toothpick. He was a chainsmoker so he always had to have something in his mouth. Go figure. He couldn't smoke cigars on the campus. Flicking the toothpick away he smiled.
[yellow]"Nice to meet you. I'm Eddy. The new Athletic Director and one of the Weights class instructors. You may not know me because it's the first week...and I'm just setting up. I was in Burma for a couple of years...doing research. But now I have a real job."[/yellow]
He focused his attention to the kid.
[yellow]"Depending on the positions? Kid. You have to earn it. Practice starts tomorrow at 3:15."[/yellow]
He winked at the Ireish kid.
[yellow]"I'm your instructor for your weights class. If you spent less time bullshitting with your girlfriends and more time paying attention to your surroundings, maybe you'd know that."[/yellow]
He gave the kid a smartass smirk.
[yellow]"Try it. I'm not saying do it. If your fast enough they won't touch you."[/yellow]

Chase smiled at Eddy. "Nice to meet you too." She said, and pulled her hand away. The air was cold and brisk, so she stuck her hands inside her coat pockets to keep warm. "Thats cool that your the athletic director, sounds a lot more fun than teaching English." Chase replied, truthfully. Only god knows why she agreed to be an English teacher, even though she did major it in college. She also didn't understand why 'special' students needed to learn english, since they were, well, 'special'.
Plus this guy must be pretty important to be athletic director. Maybe he was gifted? Or maybe he was just good at getting his way? He was really really, big and big as in muscular and such, so he could have probably scared the school board into giving him the job. But then again, he was probably asked. And he said that he was in Burma, doing research. What the hell is that supposed to me? Chase was an extremely curious person, and really wanted to know what he meant by that, but didn't ask. Most of the time she was better off when she didn't stick her nose into other peoples' buissness.
She listened to Edward talking to Kenny about football and how he was bullshitting with his girlfriends and all of that stuff. Chase would have said something, but it was way to risky. Normally, when she talked about football it turns into a topic of how much she loves New England, and practically everyone in Gotham hates the Patriots, so she bit her tongue. She looked down at her feet as she began rocking back and forth on her heels.

Eddy grinned at his new friend. She looked like she was a football fan, rolling her heels like that. She wanted to say something but really was the most quiet of the three. While waiting for a straight response from the Ireish kid, Eddy focused his attention on Chase.
[yellow]"You wouldn't by any chance happen to be a Patriots fan would you? My hometown's in New England. Gotham's a ways away but I still watch the games whenever I have time."[/yellow]
Winking at her, he continued.
[yellow]"It's a boring job. I sit at a desk and sort out our mess with the athletics...and well. You know with all of these kids haveing freak powers and abilties it's hard to make rules for the sports. That's what I''ve been trying to do all day."[/yellow]

Chase's eyes widened of excitement when he said that word. Patriots. "Yes!! I love them! They are my favoritest team ever...and I don't even think 'favoritest' is a word, but I don't really care because I really like the Pats." She smiled, at him and stopped rocking on her heels. Her face flushed slightly when he winked at her, but he all ready winked at the kid a couple times, so it probably didn't mean anything.
She laughed lightly at what he said about being the Athletic Director. "Yeah but in sports, the students can harness their abilities to succeed. I can't even think of a reason why they have to be taught English." Chase shrugged and pocketed her hand again. The coldness was starting to get to her. "You must be pretty important to get the job though," she added.

His smile lit into a grin when she flushed as he winked at her. With most people yeah it was pretty normal for Eddy to wink to. But she obviously had this akward attraction to him. He sort of felt the same way. He laughed when she said the English comment.
[yellow]"Yeah it's very true that sports help with grades and ethics, but I can't imagine a school without an English teacher. You'd have these big guys talking like 12 year olds if that was the case! There's also SAT's and State Tests that require you know a substantial amount of English. So I think they're very important."[/yellow]
He grinned at her and paused for a second. Couldn't think of much else to say.
[yellow]"Me? Nah I'm just a washed up Football player. Thought I'd get back to school and maybe help prevent kids from making the same mistakes I made."[/yellow]
He wasn't gonna go far into that subject. He didn't want to scare this beautiful woman off by telling her he was one of the most dangerous asassins America had to offer from the 70's to the late 80's. That's kind of a heavy secret all on it's own.

Chase laughed, she could totally picture older kids talking like 12 year olds. She shrugged, all of those tests were important, but she didn't know if these kids would move onto college. If you think about it, most of them will probably start their careers of being heroes or villians or whatever. "I guess your right." She agreed, and thought about what he said about being a washed up football player.
He said he wanted to prevent kids from making the same mistakes he did. Chase didn't know what that meant, it probably did have something to do with football, though. But she wasn't going to ask. "Okay, well I guess I have to go. It was nice to meet you guys, I'd like to stand around and talk but I gotta get ready for my classes and such, so I will see you guys later." She said, and walked through the crowd of people to get to where her classroom was located.
